JUDGED THE WAY PRINTS ARE ACTUALLY VIEWED
300 PPI is the right target for something you hold in your hand, and nothing else. Judge everything by it and a 30 x 45 comes back "fair" at 173 PPI, when a print that big hangs four feet away and looks perfect there. PrintFit scores every size against the distance a print that size is really seen from, and shows you the distance past which your eye stops resolving pixels. A big print at a modest density stops reading as a failure and starts reading as what it is.

JPEG, TIFF, PNG, HEIC, WebP, PSD, and the camera RAW formats macOS reads. Only the file header is touched, so a 60 MB TIFF opens as fast as a thumbnail. Sideways phone photos are measured the way you see them, not the way they were stored.
